Poetry Release: 1.2- Caesar Returns-Winter 2003

Caesar returns

The white flows through my veins
The blue light reflects off of the greasy grey of the road
blackness hides on top of hills
horses carry me through the night

the beauty of everything moves through me
I absorb it all
flying along
the horses manes move through the wind
like flags of a distant kingdom
rose pedals fall on my shoulders
for I am Caesar
long dead,
back to the world for the night of living

the living love me as the dead love life
I travel through all worlds,

The beauty of life has pulled me from death
And it is here I find her
Thousands have tried
But to understand is to see through
she is more dangerous than
the assassins who put me in the grave
more powerful than the armies of a long forgotten empire
her eyes are of a brilliant smoke
like a phoenix risen from the ashes of my past
I feel their passion, it is as powerful as a thousand suns
they follow me and see through the armor of it all

My forbidden love returns me to life
Lips lock
Tongues dance
hands move and relax

the dance we lead has been led forever
cave men, Romans, Indians
We all have danced with life

Live forever
Or die
and
return for love.
